ROLE SUMMARY: The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Safety Manager with all administrative tasks as related to Safety and Worker s Compensation, including but not limited to: coordinating safety training and updating training files, preparing EH&S documents to include Site Safety Specific plans and to provide companywide worker s compensation support.

Duties and Responsibilities

Be an active member of B & I s Safety Committee responsible for creating and distributing Safety Minutes.
Updates Safety Calendar in Outlook as necessary to inform department Managers and Senior Management of changes.
Responsible for New Hire Safety Orientation and company safety training programs as designated by Safety Manager.
Responsible for maintaining digital and hard copy of Training Certifications, Haz Mat program materials, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), OSHA reports and regulatory postings.
Prepares all Safety Certificates for entire company.
Maintains Safety Tool Incentive program and excel spreadsheet.
Updates Safety Department s corporate shared drive | Intranet as directed by the Safety Manager.
Site inspections, Safety training initiatives, frequency of site reports, etc.
Work with managers requesting safety related training for their employees and schedule as directed.
Maintains the Safety Certificate system
Maintain documentation and data via Viewpoint
Prepare Safety Certifications
Sends out 30 day advance notification of expiring certifications to Safety Manager
Sends out email notifications to Department Managers to review their department training needs
Maintain weekly toolbox talk topics, weekly job site safety inspections, and track recipients.
Maintain a file for Notice of Violations (NOVs) given by the general contractor, federal, state or any other regulatory entity.
Responsible for administrating DPASS online electronic driver s test.
Responsible for obtaining vehicle accident reports from local police authorities.
Responsible for the administration and reporting of all workers compensation claims to include:
Obtaining site copy of the First report of injury
Obtaining Incident | Investigation report(s)
Call in any accident report to carrier within 24 hours
Following up on Injured Worker (IW) medical appointments and employee attendance
Review, setup and maintain clinic accounts on shared drive | Intranet
Assist employees to locate nearest care clinic – based on job site location
Verify claims information for accuracy
Follow up within 48 hours of injury report, 72 business hours thereafter until employee is released to full duty
Ensures all supervisory personnel understand the Post Accident Drug Testing protocol.
To include Chain of Custody forms
Works with Safety Manager on monitoring; tracking frequency and severity of injuries to control and eliminate potential risk factors
Works closely with insurance claims adjusters and claims management representatives on lost time claims to ensure proper follow up and timely processing.
Provide monthly reporting of all claims to the CFO and Safety Manager for review and send a copy to HR.
Schedule and meet monthly with CFO to discuss open | closed claims.
Ensure proper communication of Workers Compensation policy, protocols, timelines, etc. to all leaders

Job Qualifications and Skills

Minimum 2 years previous administrative, Safety | Workers Compensation related experience
OSHA 10 | 30, Fall Protection, Fork Lift Safety Certifications a plus, but not required.
Will be responsible to become OHSA 10 | 30 certified within 90 days in position.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Data bases planning.
Bi-Lingual highly preferred.
